Overview Dr. Yee is Professor and Vice Chair of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. She is Chief of Radiology at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. Dr. Yee received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of New York, and completed her residency in Radiology at the Albert Einstein College of New York, followed by a fellowship in Body Imaging at UCSF. As Chief of Radiology at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dr. Yee oversees all imaging subsections including plain films, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine,and radiation safety. She is also Director of the 3D Imaging Laboratory which is a campus resource for clinical care, research and education.
Dr. Yee’s research is primarily focused on colorectal cancer screening and early detection using a novel technique that she has helped to develop called virtual colonoscopy or CT colonography. Dr. Yee has been appointed Principal Investigator in many of her significant studies and publications. She has published over 80 articles and 22 book chapters.She is also the primary author of the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria for colorectal cancer screening in adults.
She provides clinical services which includes consultation, interpretations as well as supervision of medical students, residents and fellows in the body CT, body MRI and gastrointestinal radiology services.
Dr. Yee is currently on the Board of Directors of the Society of Abdominal Radiology and is in succession to be President. She is Chair of the American College of Radiology Colon Cancer Committee, Chair of the Public Information Committee for the Radiologic Society of North America and Vice-Chair of the Board for the Northern California Institute for Research and Education (NCIRE).
