Dr. Poder, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. She received her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health University, Washington, DC, and completed her residency in Radiology at George Washington University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging from the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Poder’s research program is clinically oriented and is focused on a number of clinical obstacles that involve improving recurrent thyroid cancer localized in the head and neck. After a successful trial of hook-needle guidance for recurrent thyroid cancer, Dr. Poder is now interested in similar applications in localizing recurrence of small lesions of melanoma prior to resection. She is also involved in developing optimal MRI pelvic protocols in Estonia. She is working with a team to raise awareness of the importance of proper imaging for pre-operative staging in gynecologic malignancies.
Dr. Poder has over 29 publications dedicated to her research, clinical trials, and study cases.
