      My research focuses on genetics of common human disease, including stroke, cardiovascular disease and aging and longevity. In collaboration with Drs. Helen Kim and Hua Su at the UCSF Center for Cerebrovascular Research, I study the genetics of brain arteriovenous malformation (BAVM), an important cause of stroke in young adults, and other vascular malformations. A second focus of my research is on human aging and longevity; I am part of the NIA-funded Longevity Consortium.
