    Dr. Luis Alberto Rubio is an infectious disease specialist who provides primary care for patients living with HIV or AIDS. His professional interests include HIV prevention and treating latent (asymptomatic) tuberculosis infections.

    In research, Rubio is interested in medical education and health care access for marginalized populations, especially those disproportionately impacted by such infections as HIV, COVID-19 and tuberculosis.

    Rubio earned his medical degree and master of health science degree from the Yale School of Medicine. At UCSF, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases.
