As Executive Director for Admissions and the Student Experience Team (AsSET), I collaborate with deans and directors to develop programs and services that provide an outstanding experience for aspirants, applicants, and medical students at UCSF.
Before coming to UCSF, I taught interdisciplinary humanities, writing, and theatre to undergraduate and graduate students at Stanford University, the University of Washington, and UC Santa Barbara. At UCSF my teaching of health professions students has included Team Learning and Communications Skills (TLCS) and Diversity, Inclusion, Identity, Bias, and Inequity (DIIBI) for medical students and Inter-Professional Education small groups for learners in Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy. For staff and managers in medical education I've designed and taught workshops focusing on student-centered service design and staff engagement strategies. At regional and national conferences I've co-led workshops on how to understand and leverage the concept of Professional Identity Formation in medical education.
