Clare Shinnerl oversees Campus Life Services (CLS), a large UCSF division that includes: Housing, Parking & Transportation, Facilities Services, Childcare, Documents & Media, UCSF Living Well, Arts & Events, Retail & Conference Services, Fitness & Recreation and the Financial Service Center. Clare joined UCSF in January 2015 from the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH), where she was the Chief Operating Officer responsible for finance and budget, facilities, human resources, information technology, communications, and program operations.
Previously, Clare was the Senior Associate Dean, Finance and Administration at Stanford University’s School of Engineering. At Stanford Engineering, Clare was responsible for the school’s administrative functions, including finance and budget, facilities, auxiliaries, human resources, information technology, and research administration. Prior to Stanford, Clare held leadership positions at several other large California universities, including Assistant Vice President, Business Services at USC, Director of Conference Services at UCLA, and Assistant Resident Dean at UCSD.
