I have expertise in research synthesis methods and managed the Cochrane Collaboration's Review Group on HIV/AIDS for over a decade. I am a member of the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) Working Group and have many years experience in using GRADE methodology to assess the quality (certainty) of evidence for intervention outcomes and diagnostic test accuracy. I have led and provided methodologic oversight on numerous systematic review projects commissioned to UCSF in HIV/AIDS guideline development work for the World Health Organization (WHO). I have served several times as a consultant to WHO guideline development teams and have presented review findings (with evidence quality) to WHO's global consensus panels. I am a skilled writer. I also develop curricula and provide teaching and mentoring in systematic review and GRADE methodologies, as well as in scientific writing and other areas.
