Tim Anderson is a Primary Care Research Fellow in the Division of General Internal Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the system and physician level factors which drive variation in care delivery and clinical outcomes of patients with hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. His research interests include studying the pharmacoepidemiology of cardiovascular medications, the use of diagnostic testing in cardiovascular disease and the impact of marketing and financial relationships on prescribing behavior. He ultimately aims to translate an improved understanding of the factors driving variation in care towards implementing educational programs and delivery system improvements which enhance the value of the care we provide. Tim's research interests are driven by his clinical experiences as a primary care physician and resident preceptor at the UCSF Mt. Zion General Internal Medicine Clinic.
