Xon Ng is an Associate Clinical Professor in the UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine. After growing up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he moved to the U.S. and received his medical degree from Boston University. Xon completed both his Internship (2000) and Residency (2002) at the institution’s Medical Center.

He spent the next 6 years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York where Xon specialized in the management of medical and oncologic emergencies. At the same time, he became an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and taught at Cornell Weill Medical College.

Xon moved to the west coast and UCSF (2009-2012), where he practiced primary care and hospital medicine.

An opportunity to further Xon’s career saw him move down the coast to join the UCLA Hospitalist Service (2012–2017). Xon attended on the medical wards while teaching housestaff and medical students at both the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and West Los Angeles Veteran Administration Hospital.

His love for the Bay area finally brought him back to San Francisco and UCSF in 2017 where he continues to pursue his passion for inpatient medicine and attend on the various medical services at Parnassus.

Xon has expertise in caring for cancer patients in an inpatient setting, and in addition to the latter, his medical interests extend to Perioperative medicine, Ultrasound Guided Procedural Education as well as student teaching.
