    I am an infectious diseases physician by training with a background in immunology, epidemiology/biostatistics and computation. My research is largely translational with my primary focus being the use of unbiased serological profiling to understand the humoral immune response to flavivirus infections. I believe that this approach, combined with others can aid us in vaccine design. I am also interested in expanding this technique to other infectious diseases.

    My second area of interest is more computation-focused. In collaboration with other investigators at UCSF, I have developed a gene expression signature that we believe can be an effective tool for TB-screening in people with HIV in TB-endemic areas. This work fits into a larger interest in trying to understand how to more effectively leverage data generated from high throughput assays.
