    With an educational background in Public Health and Business Administration, Aileen has led a professional journey spanning over twenty years in various non-profit fields -ranging from projects and grants management to community engagement roles at academic research institutions, hospitals/clinics, community-based organizations and social service agencies. Throughout those years, her passion grew in the areas of advancing health equity, promoting inclusive and diverse research groups as well as addressing health disparities among marginalized populations.

    In her dual role as a Clinical Research Coordinator with the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine (DOM-DGIM) and a Navigator for the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) at UCSF, Aileen will be involved with various research projects with the aims of supporting disease prevention, improving health outcomes and fostering research engagements, particularly among underrepresented minorities. Her role encompasses the clinical management of research participants, recruitments, consultations, community engagements, research administration, data management, expertise in regulatory compliance, as well as financial and other contractual activities.
