Brianán Kiernan is a Technical Advisor and Program Manager for UCSF's GSI and UPIEA teams where she provides technical assistance and manages programs related to HIV surveillance and pandemic preparedness. In her role to date, she has provided technical assistance, carried out trainings and evaluations, and managed programs in Côte d'Ivoire, Burundi, Namibia, Angola, and the State of California. Prior to joining UCSF in 2020, she worked with the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Senegal where she supported the Ministry of Health with the piloting and roll-out of point-of-care diagnostics for HIV, HPV, and COVID-19. She has worked at the Institute of Reproductive Health at Georgetown University where she worked with Save the Children and the Ministry of Health in the DRC on an adolescent sexual and reproductive health social and behavior change project. At the start of her career, she worked with Saha Global in Tamale, Ghana. She has her MSc in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin, and her BA in International Studies and French from Boston College.
