My research is focused on developing, implementing, and evaluating approaches to increase tuberculosis (TB) case detection in high-burden, low-resource settings and reduce barriers to care. I am also interested in TB-related stigma and how it it interacts with gender. I work with the World Health Organization to develop tools to help countries translate guidance into action, and provide technical assistance to national TB control programs to help implement active case-finding activities. In addition to my TB research, I am academic coordinator of the PhD program in Global Health through the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences.
