    Dan is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education with a focus on marijuana/cannabis policy. His current research centers on legal and public health best practices in cannabis policy, including emerging regulatory approaches, industry structure and behavior, and intersections with tobacco control.

    Dan was previously Deputy Director of the Network for Public Health Law - Western Region, where he provided technical assistance to federal, state, tribal, and local health officials; practitioners; attorneys; advocates; and others on a wide variety of public health legal issues. He also served as a Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Law for the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and as an Adjunct Lecturer for the University of Arizona's Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. In addition to his current research on cannabis policy, he has experience researching and teaching in multiple areas of health and public health law and policy, including health care reform, emergency preparedness, vaccination, and end of life issues.
