    Dr. Farkas is an Assistant Professor at UCSF with appointments in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science and the Department of Anatomy. He received a BS in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a PhD in anatomy from the Penn State College of Medicine, as well as completed a certificate in College Teaching from The Graduate School at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Farkas has expertise in the anatomical sciences and anatomy education, and has conducted research in the biomechanics of hip degeneration and body composition and cardiometabolic profiles following spinal cord injury. He has published in scholarly journals and presented at national and international conferences. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Farkas has taught anatomy to high school, medical, graduate, and physician assistant students, as well as resident physicians. He currently teaches anatomy and neuroanatomy to physical therapy and medical students, as well as resident physicians and physical therapy residents in the orthopedic and acute care residency programs. He also teaches systems physiology to the physical therapy students and helps run anatomy continuing education courses for physical therapists.
