Overview
Dr. Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco and is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in trauma and shoulder/elbow surgery. Her clinical expertise includes the treatment of acute orthopaedic fracture problems, shoulder and elbow arthritis, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, elbow instability, and any conditions affecting the shoulder or elbow. She also has a special interest in tendon transfers for irreparable rotator cuff tears and treatment of post-traumatic problems of the shoulder and elbow such as contractures and fracture nonunion/malunion.
With her unique training, Dr. Tangtiphaiboontana offers surgical treatment options that range from arthroscopy to arthroplasty in addition to fracture care. Her goals as a physician include educating her patients about their condition and helping them choose the best treatment option in shared-decision making fashion. As a surgeon, her goals are to improve her patient’s function and help them return to their pre-injury lifestyle and activities.
