Dr. Lee Spitzer is a palliative medicine physician who treats patients with serious illness in the inpatient setting. Together with the other members of the transdisciplinary inpatient palliative care team, he helps maximize patients' quality of life through symptom management, advance care planning, and emotional and psychosocial support. Dr. Spitzer also participates in educational efforts to improve the primary palliative care skillsets of medical students and non-specialty trained providers.
Dr. Spitzer earned his medical degree from Tulane School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at UCSF.
Dr. Spitzer is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Spitzer enjoys gardening, going on walks with his dog, and spending time with his family.
