Overview
Julia Kramer is a design practitioner and researcher with experience at the intersection of equity, design, and global health. Currently, Dr. Kramer is the Director of Human-Centered Design for Innovations for Choice and Autonomy (ICAN), a four-year implementation research project in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Uganda. In this role, she facilitates a collaborative problem-solving approach to implement self-injection of DMPA-SC within a full basket of contraceptive choices.
Dr. Kramer received her MPH and her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. She has field experience in sexual and reproductive health projects across a range of countries, including Ghana, India, and Nicaragua. Before joining UCSF, Dr. Kramer worked on several projects to understand how human-centered design can be a lever for increased access to cervical cancer screening.

Altmetrics Details
PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media.
(Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.)
Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication.
Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication.
Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.)
