Marika manages the UCSF ASPIRE (Assessing the Safety of Pregnancy In the CoRonavirus PandEmic) and OVA (Ovarian Aging Study) research teams at the Center for Reproductive Health. She studied Anthropology as an undergraduate and graduate student at the University of Southern California, where her research focused on the role of birth doulas in modern-day birthing practices. Prior to joining the Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility division at UCSF, Marika worked with the Ryan Residency Training Program where she helped expand contraceptive access and standardize abortion care in ob-gyn residency programs. Marika is deeply committed to reproductive health access, bodily autonomy and the psychosocial implications of patient care.
