Monica is the Pre-Award Manager for Team I. Monica comes to UCSF from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health with 15 years of experience in research administration in both pre- and post-award. While Monica is familiar working with a wide variety of funding sponsors, her prime expertise is with NIH funding. Monica believes that post-award considerations are a key component of pre-award administration and plans on working closely with her post-award UCSF partners. Monica has always enjoyed supporting the research community. She finds the researchers’ independent spirit and creativity inspiring. She looks forward to joining her wonderful Team I colleagues in providing efficient pre-award services so that UCSF PI's can continue their worthwhile research with minimal interruption. Monica has an undergraduate degree in Ancient History from UC Berkeley and spent an additional two years studying American Labor History. She has a keen interest in in late 19th and early 20th century American literature. She enjoys hiking and reading British mysteries in her spare time.
