    Dr. Reena Gupta is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco in the Division of General Internal Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital. She is a public health leader and primary care physician focused on delivery of high quality health care services for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at the primary care level in low- and middle-income countries.

    Dr. Gupta is Chief Medical Officer, Performance Improvement for Cardiovascular Health at Resolve to Save Lives, a global organization that partners with ministries of health, WHO, and local partners to implement patient-centered hypertension and diabetes programs in primary care settings across 40 countries. These programs currently provide treatment to over 40 million people in more than 220,000 health facilities. In this role, she provides strategic and technical guidance to improve the quality of health services for the control of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia.

    She serves on several international advisory groups including the World Health Organization Technical Advisory Group for Diabetes and the World Health Organization Dyslipidemia Guideline Development Group.

    Dr Gupta received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, completed residency in internal medicine at UCSF, and is a practicing physician at San Francisco General Hospital.
