    Rohit began his research in 2003 at Stanford University studying Multiple Sclerosis. Throughout his tenure at Stanford, he established globally-recognized biobank infrastructure, alongside directing the institute’s largest, research focused, ambulatory care center. Notably, Rohit led the strategy, design, and development towards a federation of academic biobanks utilizing novel tools, such as a central data platform for managing both clinical and biological ‘transomics' information related to the biospecimens. Now serving as the inaugural Chief Biobank Officer for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Rohit founded the Office of Biobank Education and Research to accelerate research with centralized specimen and data management solutions, which serve as a pipeline for the next-generation of diagnostics and therapeutics. Rohit aims to disseminate hardened biobank tools and methods to the masses, in an effort to improve sample utility, promote cutting-edge assays, and drive an informatics-first approach to human sampling. Ultimately, these enterprise solutions in the life sciences are expected to help unlock the promise of precision medicine and scientific discovery.
