I practice as a psychiatric pharmacist at the Veterans Affairs San Francisco Healthcare System, where I am piloting a mental health pharmacy tele-health clinic. My clinical areas of interest include expanding roles for psychiatric pharmacists, tobacco cessation in psychiatric patients, and primary care mental health. I provide didactic instruction throughout the pharmacy curriculum in psychiatric pharmacotherapy and am a course coordinator for CP120, the first Therapeutics course for second year pharmacy students. I am also involved in the design and delivery of the Psychiatry/Neurology theme for the School of Pharmacy's Curriculum 2018 and Beyond. My educational areas of interest are in piloting innovative educational technologies, reducing mental health stigma, and incorporating active learning strategies into the curriculum. My research interests are related to my clinical and educational interests, namely evaluating the impact of psychiatric pharmacists in new roles, implementation and impact of incorporating educational technologies in the classroom, and assessment of student learning outcomes.
