    Sunita collaborates with UCSF faculty and researchers in identification, evaluation, protection and commercialization of inventions arising from their research. In addition to managing a large portfolio of technologies from diverse scientific disciplines, Sunita also provides leadership support in helping build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, define new strategies to identify and develop UCSF’s intellectual property, co-negotiate master industry-sponsored research partnerships and commercialize UCSF’s technologies through strategic partnerships with existing or start-up companies.

    Sunita brings an extensive background in life sciences including B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Pharmacology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh followed by postdoctoral training at UCSF. Sunita's graduate and postgraduate research focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular injury in the brain. She has a strong technical background in neuroscience, pharmacology, molecular and cell biology.

    Sunita is excited about the role she plays in facilitating UCSF’s goal of translating cutting edge scientific discoveries into commercial products for patient care and public benefit.
