Dr. Susan Crowe is an obstetrician and gynecologist with a specialized focus in lactation medicine. She cares for pregnant, postpartum, and lactating individuals, offering expert support to those managing a variety of conditions during the postpartum period. Her practice centers on helping people achieve their lactation goals and providing care as they navigate the transition into parenthood. Her research and publications have focused on lactation, postpartum depression, and quality improvement.

Dr. Crowe is committed to advocacy work, particularly through her work with ACOG, where she focuses on improving lactation accommodations at both the state and national levels. She has contributed to legislation promoting equitable birth experiences for all birthing individuals and remains committed to advancing policies that enhance the health and well-being of those seeking obstetric and gynecologic care.

Dr. Crowe earned her undergraduate degree in Conservation and Resource Studies from UC Berkeley. She went on to receive her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. After returning to California, she completed her residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. She then served as a faculty physician at Stanford University School of Medicine for over two decades before joining the faculty at UCSF.

In her spare time, she likes to go hiking with her husband and dog and enjoys spending time with her brother and her three adult children.
