Overview Susan O'Hara is the Executive Director for the Operating Budget, Recharge Review, and Resource Administration within UCSF Budget and Resources Management. She oversees the teams managing the operating budget process for the campus and the core financial plan (planning and administration) as well as the campus recharge rate review process. She began this role in July 2019.
From 1998-2019, she was the Chief Financial Officer in the UCSF School of Medicine's Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, where she led a staff of 24 handling strategic financial planning, budgets, reporting, research administration, purchasing, reimbursements, and audit oversight.
She served as Director, Program and Budget Planning at UC Davis from 1995-98, responsible for a campuswide operating budget of $1 billion annually. From 1984-95, she was the Director of Budget and Human Resources in the UCSF School of Dentistry. And her career began in Washington, DC, as a Presidential Management Intern and budget analyst in the Office of Management and Budget.
As an experienced executive and leader, Susan O'Hara's areas of expertise include long range resource planning, analysis of resource issues, development of budget models for resource allocation, budgeting, financial administration, and forging academic and staff partnerships.
