Overview Dr. Datta is the Consulting Neuropsychiatrist for the UCSF Epilepsy Center and Associate Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at UCSF Health. He also serves as the Consulting Psychiatrist to the OPTIMAL Post-COVID clinic. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of functional neurological disorders, early onset dementias, psychiatric manifestations of neurological disease, somatoform disorders, factitious disorders, traumatic brain injury, and trauma-related disorders. He maintains an outpatient neuropsychiatry practice and provides forensic evaluations and consultation to the courts and attorneys on psycholegal issues.
He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Mental Health, Co-Chair of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law's Forensic Neuropsychiatry Committee, serves on the USMLE Neurology/Neuroscience Test Development Committee and is Co-Chair of the Scientific Program for the Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis 2020 Conference.
