    William L. Carveth, MD, FACS

    William L. Carveth, MD, FACS, is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery at the University of California San Francisco Fresno, UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education and Research.

    Dr. Carveth received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and his medical degree from the University of Nebraska, School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his internship and general surgery residency at UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, Fresno, California. Subsequently, he completed his Colon and Rectal Fellowship Program at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Carveth is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

    Dr. Carveth has been a faculty member in the Department of Surgery since 2006. His clinical and didactic teaching involves education, lecturing, mentoring, and supervising medical students and residents that rotate on the colorectal service. In addition to his instructional role, Dr. Carveth has run a thriving colon and rectal surgery private practice in Fresno for 20 years, and has been a team physician with Fresno State University since 2007. Dr. Carveth’s focus includes colon and rectal surgery, colon and rectal cancer, minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery as well as aerospace medicine.

    Dr. Carveth is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Northern California Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has given presentations on regional, national, and international platforms. He is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery.
