I graduated from the USC School of Dentistry in 1985 and moved to Mill Valley, California. I began my own private practice in 1985 and had an excellent thirty years. In 2015 I sold my practice and traveled around the world for one year. One of the best things I have ever done. For my entire working career, I always knew that I wanted to enter academia. I was beyond lucky to secure my position at UCSF upon the return from my trip in 2017. I have worked hard and enjoyed every minute of being around my students and fellow faculty member. Three years ago I was promoted to the position of Group Practice Leader. My work satisfaction has increased even more with this position to have more autonomy to guide my students as I see fit through their clinical experience. I hope to be at UCSF for many years to come.
