    Dr. Hedieh Matinrad is a palliative care physician and faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco, where she treats patients with serious illness in the inpatient setting, and teaches future palliative care physicians. Together with the other members of the transdisciplinary inpatient palliative care team, she helps maximize patients' quality of life through symptom management, advance care planning, and emotional and psychosocial support. She also serves as the associate program director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at UCSF.

    Dr. Matinrad received her medical degree from UC San Diego. She served as Chief Resident at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, following completion of residency in Internal Medicine with pathway in Social/Global Medicine. She completed fellowship at UCSF as member of Global Palliative Education pathway, and stayed on as faculty after.

    Dr. Matinrad’s interests include exposure to palliative care in premedical and medical students, global palliative care, expanding immigrant Farsi-speaking community awareness and knowledge around palliative care and advanced care planning.
