Allyson has been a genetic counselor at UCSF since 2005. She splits her time between her clinical role in the Prenatal Diagnostic Center (PDC) and her academic role as the Associate Director of the Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling.
While in the PDC, Allyson enjoys caring for all types of preconception and prenatal patients. She specializes in hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease, and enjoys researching lesser known conditions. She is part of a large team of genetic counselors and MFM/geneticists. Visits with the genetics team in the PDC can be coordinated in-person or virtually.
As Associate Director of the Genetic Counseling program, Allyson coordinates and manages clinical placements for the graduate students. She teaches several classes including Reproductive Genetics, and loves to work closely with students as they develop their skills. Allyson is open to being contacted by prospective applicants.
Allyson is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and is licensed by the California Department of Public Health.
