Brooke Vance, MPA, joined UCSF Department of Pediatrics in 2021 as Senior Academic Affairs Administrator. Here, she supports the recruitment, appointment, and advancement processes for one of the largest pediatric departments in the nation. Brooke is a co-chair of the UCSF Committee on Disability Inclusion, where she actively contributes to one of the Chancellor’s Four Goals. Additionally, she is a member of the Department of Pediatrics IDEAAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Anti-Racism Strategy) Advisory Group, and staff member of the second Cohort of the Early Career Leadership in IDEAA Program.

Throughout her career, the projects she has found most compelling were those involving research, administration, communications, program development, organizational strategy and effectiveness, and inclusion. She has a long history of working in administration, including risk management, establishing and monitoring internal control mechanisms in all areas of operation, personnel management, and finance.

Brooke has been supporting operational excellence for more than ten years in a variety of academic settings. UCSF is her fifth higher education employer, in her third state. She has worked in library services, alumni and development, undergraduate department administration, student affairs and enrollment management, and now supports academic affairs for UCSF pediatric faculty and non-faculty academics.
