    Dr. Kent is currently a fellow at UCSF in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Kent completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA, where he obtained a BA in International Development Studies with a focus on Global Health, as well as a Minor degree in Spanish. Prior to medical school, he worked in the biomedical tech industry in Silicon Valley. He completed his MD degree at Albany Medical College, where he received the Scholastic Excellence Award and the Tompkins Alumni Scholarship, and he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Societies. He completed his General Surgery residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. During his residency research elective, he pursued a fellowship in technology translation at the Wyss Institute of Harvard Medical School, where one of his associated projects won the Harvard President's Innovation Challenge in Health and Life Sciences in 2022. His research interests include technology translation, hemostasis, minimally invasive surgery, and education.
