Dr. Michael Wirth is an Australian born and trained anesthesiologist who joined UCSF in 2022.
He received his primary medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 2004.
He completed 5 years of specialist training in anesthesia at various hospitals in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom and was awarded his FANZCA in 2013.
After this he subsequently completed a 12 month fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, United Kingdom.
He then worked as a specialist cardiothoracic anesthesiologist in both public and private practice in Sydney, Australia between 2014-2022 before joining the department at UCSF.
