Dr. Prajakta Kulkarni is a board-eligible prosthodontist with advanced training in restorative and implant dentistry. She specializes in treating patients with complex dental needs—from dentures and crowns to full-mouth rehabilitation—always with a focus on function, comfort, and aesthetics.

Originally from India, Dr. Kulkarni earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) before moving to the United States to pursue advanced education. She holds a master’s degree in biomaterials from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where her research focused on the performance of modern dental materials. She then completed a rigorous three-year residency in prosthodontics at the University of Louisville, serving as Chief Resident and leading clinical research on digital dentistry, 3D printing, and full-mouth reconstruction.

Before joining UCSF, Dr. Kulkarni was a full-time faculty member at Augusta University in Georgia, where she led initiatives to integrate digital dentistry into clinical training and developed educational programs for dental students and residents. She was honored with the MVP Faculty Award in 2024 for her outstanding leadership and contributions to patient care and education.

At UCSF, Dr. Kulkarni provides expert care in the Prosthodontic Faculty Practice, where she treats patients with missing teeth, worn dentition, or implant needs. She also teaches in the predoctoral clinic, mentoring the next generation of dentists in clinical removable prosthodontics and digital workflows.

Known for her compassionate approach and attention to detail, Dr. Kulkarni is committed to helping each patient regain confidence in their smile and oral health.
