    Dr. Rettig is a board-certified general surgeon who is currently the Advanced GI Minimally Invasive/Bariatric Surgery Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. He obtained his Bachelor's of Science degree in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree and graduated with distinction from The George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Rettig completed his general surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. His clinical interests include bariatric surgery, benign foregut as well as malignant lower esophageal & stomach disease, and hernia/abdominal wall reconstruction. His surgical skill set encompasses the da Vinci robotic platform, advanced laparoscopy, and interventional endoscopy.
