Dr. Sabrina Fernandez is a primary care pediatrician who cares for children of all ages at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. In her practice, she sees children for routine primary care, health maintenance, and sick visits. Her interests include preventative care, quality improvement and patient-physician communication. Dr. Fernandez enjoys writing, and has contributed as a writer and editor for the "Healthy Baby/Healthy Child" column in the journal "Pediatric Annals". She is also interested in immunizations, and is a board member of the San Francisco Immunization Coalition (http://www.sfimmunizationcoalition.org/). She has a great passion for medical education and is the Associate Program Director in charge of Intern Recruitment and Selection. Lastly, she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students and residents in her practice at UCSF and she is a co-director for the Mt Zion Primary Care Pediatrics site for the medical student Pediatrics Clerkship.
Dr. Fernandez is an associate professor of pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her medical degree at UC Davis School of Medicine, followed by residency and chief residency in pediatrics at UCSF.
