Dr. Nima Sadrian is a physician-scientist driven by a passion to bridge the gap between complex neuroscience and public health. Currently a postdoctoral scholar in the Sall Lab at UCSF, his research focuses on the critical developmental windows of childhood and adolescence.

Following his MD and master’s training at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, he devoted his time in Mississippi to family-centered health, championing the wellness of children and teenagers in the community. Pursuing a long-held aspiration to understand the biological mechanisms driving development, he moved to California to specialize in neuroscience. At UCSF, he uses translational rodent models to investigate how environmental factors, specifically cannabis, impact the maturing adolescent brain, aiming to fill critical gaps in safety data and regulatory science.

Beyond the bench, Dr. Sadrian is a dedicated science communicator who believes research should be accessible to everyone. He has written for national public magazines, striving to translate rigorous scientific findings into actionable knowledge for families. His broader interests span neurodevelopment, pain management, and anesthesia. Outside of his professional endeavors, he finds joy in cooking, listening to podcasts, and playing tennis. He's also a devoted pet parent.
