    Ahmed A. Naiem, M.D., RPVI, FRCSC is a vascular and endovascular surgeon in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at UCSF and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Dr. Naiem earned his MD at Sultan Qaboos University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Muscat, Oman. He then completed an integrated vascular surgery residency at McGill University, Montreal, Canada where he served as the administrative chief resident during his last two years. He was recognized for his academic performance with the 2022 Kent MacKenzie Award for Educational Leadership and Excellence in Surgery, and 2021 McGill University Transition to Clinical Practice (TCP) Surgery Resident Teaching Award.
    After training, Dr. Naiem worked briefly at the Royal Hospital in his hometown of Muscat, Oman before moving to UCSF to pursue his interest in limb preservation as part of the multidisciplinary team at the UCSF Limb Preservation Center.
    His scope of practice also includes management of carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, thoracic aortic pathologies and vascular trauma.
    Dr. Naiem has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals within vascular surgery and presented at multiple national and international meetings. His focus in research is on standardization in diagnosis and risk stratification of patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia in order to better inform patients.
