    Dr. Laura Chiu is a gastroenterologist with interests in digestive cancer screening and risk counseling, quality improvement, and medical education. Her clinical practice encompasses the comprehensive spectrum of gastrointestinal diseases and general endoscopy. Her research endeavors include examining racial disparities of early-onset colorectal cancer, exploring non-invasive colorectal cancer prevention in older adults, H. pylori management in high-risk populations, and the relationship between NAFLD and cardiovascular health in the Framingham Heart Study. Additionally, she has contributed to scholarly writing on professional development and mentorship for early-career faculty in gastroenterology.

    Dr. Chiu earned her medical degree at Albany Medical College. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency, and Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine. She belongs to the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She currently serves on the American College of Gastroenterology’s Training Committee and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy’s Women’s Committee.
