Overview After practicing for over 10 years in primary care, I am delighted to have had the opportunity for further specialized training in palliative care. I am now exclusively practicing outpatient palliative care at UCSF. As part of the UCSF Symptom Management Service, I work closely with the oncology team to manage: cancer-related pain, fatigue, weight loss, depression/anxiety, gastrointestinal symptoms, and other symptoms with the goal of improving my patients' quality of life and function. I also assist with advanced care planning in the setting of serious medical illness. Prior to COVID-19, I was also able to make house calls for patients with a variety of serious medical illness as part of the UCSF Home-Based Palliative Care Service. I enjoy developing relationships with my patients and do my best to get to know them holistically. I find it extremely rewarding to reduce the limiting effects of pain, depression, and other symptoms for my patients facing life-threatening illness. I take a collaborative approach to working with other medical team members and am always looking for novel or creative ways to reduce the symptom burden for my patients.
