Susan Wall, MD, is a Professor in Radiology and Vice-Chair of Academic Affairs in the Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Wall received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed an internship in Pediatrics from UCSF, and joined the UCSF Department of Radiology for her residency, serving as Chief Resident. In 1982, she joined the Radiology faculty at UCSF, and from 1993-2000, Dr. Wall served as Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Since 1997, she was Vice-Chair of Academic Affairs in Radiology and she retired in 2006 after 20 years of service to the University.
From 2003-2005, Dr. Wall took over the responsibility as Dean for UCSF-Fresno. As Senior Associate Dean of the Graduate Medical Education, she oversaw 70 accredited programs and more than 1,300 trainees. Dr. Wall has served on and chaired numerous committees both locally and nationally. She has chaired the Merit and Promotions Committee and the Human Relations Committee. Nationally, Dr. Wall is past president of the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists where she was honored as the first woman to become the Annual Visiting Professor. Dr. Wall served as Chair of the Editorial Board of the Radiological Society of North America News as well as the Publications Council, the American College of Radiology Intersociety Conferences, and the Steering Committee of the Group on Resident Affairs of the American Association of Medical Colleges.
Dr. Wall is recognized nationally and internationally as an expert on abdominal imaging, and she has published more than 130 manuscripts.
