Overview Dr. Diana K. Nguyen is a general dentist and Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at UCSF Dental Center. She performs preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dental procedures twice a week in the UCSF Faculty Group Practice.
Dr. Nguyen graduated from Columbia University and received her DDS from the New York University College of Dentistry. Following her training at NYU, she successfully completed a General Practice Residency at Yale. Prior to entering full-time academia at UCSF, Dr. Nguyen practiced in San Diego, CA for several years with an emphasis on patient education and minimally invasive dentistry. She has extensive experience in conservative dental treatment, crown and bridge, implant restoration, and surgical extractions.
In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Nguyen served on the Board of Directors at the San Diego County Dental Society and was appointed to the Faculty at the University of California-San Diego School of Medicine, where she treated patients from underserved populations and supervised students as they gained hands-on experience in clinical care.
Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She is a published author of peer-reviewed research and writing related to the dental profession. In recognition of her contributions to dentistry and community health, Dr. Nguyen has received numerous academic and professional awards.
