    Dr. Lisa Deng is a gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist who specializes in caring for patients with liver disease. Dr. Deng serves as the Director of Liver Clinic at the San Francisco VA Healthcare System, where she cares for a predominantly older, vulnerable patient population with liver disease. She also attends on the inpatient Gastroenterology consult service and teaches trainees. Dr. Deng’s academic mission is to improve quality of life for patients with advanced liver disease through integration of palliative care and geriatric principles.

    Dr. Deng earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a certificate in Global Health from Duke University. She completed medical school, Internal Medicine residency, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco.
