Overview
I am interested in research on factors that promote health for the most vulnerable elderly, with an emphasis on the social and cultural environment as these enable older adults to remain living in their communities with quality of life and dignity.
My dissertation focused on the effect of ototoxic drugs on age-related hearing loss among older adults. I have developed a collaboration agreement with the University of Wisconsin for my dissertation research. Given the high prevalence of hearing loss and the impact on health and daily living, medication associated ototoxicity may be a critical epidemiological problem.
I have worked at Center for Elders Independence (one of program all inclusive care for elders) as a primary care nurse practitioner.
