Dr. Maanasa Indaram is an ophthalmologist who cares for children with all types of eye conditions, as well as adults with strabismus (abnormal eye alignment), eye movement disorders and keratoconus (a vision-affecting disorder of the cornea). She specializes in treating strabismus with glasses, botulinum toxin (Botox) injections or eye muscle surgery, and has expertise in a minimally invasive procedure called corneal cross-linking to treat keratoconus in both adults and children, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition, she has expertise in managing pediatric cataracts, anterior segment diseases (disorders of the front of the eye), amblyopia (lazy eye), ptosis (drooping upper eyelid) and orbital dermoid cysts.

Indaram serves as medical director of UCSF's pediatric ophthalmology division and adult strabismus clinic, and she co-directs pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Her research interests include treatments for strabismus and keratoconus.

Indaram earned her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at UCSF, followed by a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Boston Children's Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School's ophthalmology department.

Indaram is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Frederick C. Cordes Eye Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
