    Collapse overview
I am an academic anesthesiologist with interests in global health equity, perioperative medicine, and clinical data science. My work focuses on building and analyzing high-quality datasets to drive better patient care and address disparities in anesthesia and critical care worldwide. I am actively involved in the establishment of hypoxia testing laboratory infrastructure, both in San Francisco and internationally, aiming to advance research and equitable access to medical technology, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

After graduating from Queen’s University School of Medicine in Canada, I completed my anesthesiology residency at the University of Toronto. I then pursued dual fellowships in Critical Care Medicine and Global Health Anesthesia at UCSF, where I remain on faculty. My current research includes leading studies on pulse oximetry accuracy across diverse populations, developing cloud-based analytics tools for global health research, and creating open-access resources to promote transparency and collaboration in medical data science.

In addition to my research and clinical practice, I am committed to education and mentorship, supporting trainees and early-career anesthesiologists in both local and international settings. I am passionate about integrating technology, data science, and global health initiatives to improve care for underserved populations.
