Dr. Donesky's research focuses on non-pharmacologic symptom management interventions for people with chronic lung disease. Projects include translation of an internet-based dyspnea self-management program with mobile access into clinical practice, and a Tele-Yoga program using simplified interactive multipoint videoconferencing technology for patients with both COPD and heart failure. She practices as a nurse practitioner at Mt. Zion chest faculty practice where she's part of an interdisciplinary team that is developing a pulmonary rehabilitation program and a Quality of Life/Symptom Management Clinic for pulmonary outpatients. She is the faculty of record for the Advanced Physiology and Pathophysiology course that is taken by all advanced practice nursing students at UCSF, and she developed the palliative care minor for nursing students that is now transitioning to an interprofessional training opportunity. Dr. Donesky is co-director of the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist program in the School of Nursing.
