    Kate Melino is the co-director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program at the UCSF School of Nursing. She is also the UCSF director for the collaborative VANAP-GE PMHNP Residency Training Program with the San Francisco VAHCS. In addition to ongoing curriculum development, her teaching foci include therapeutic communication and trauma-informed care.

    Kate has U.S. and international experience as a psychiatric provider across the continuum of mental health services, in both clinical and administrative leadership roles. Her clinical interests include integration of primary and behavioural health care, concurrent treatment of mental health and substance use disorders, geriatric psychiatry, and LGBTQ mental health.
