Weijie Wang attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology and French. She also obtained a minor in Global Public Health. Since starting undergrad studies, she has involved herself with organizations serving low-income, immigrant Asian and Hispanic communities to address health disparities and barriers to care. She has volunteered with the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) to inform Chinese immigrants about their hepatitis B status and to refer them to health care and community services. The data she has collected were used to inform and shape ACPHD health policies. She has also interned for the nonprofit San Francisco Hepatitis B Free, where she organized hepatitis B vaccine and test clinics and helped launch a telehealth program for hepatologists to train rural primary care physicians on how to treat and manage hepatitis B. Prior to becoming a Clinical Research Coordinator, she worked as a Staff Research Associate at UCSF.
